             OPEN DESIGN LECTURE: STEFANIA DRUGA

If design is about utilising our divergent thinking and innate aesthetic ability, naturally children should be the masters of it. This is the belief that drives Stefania Druga to start Hackidemia (http://www.hackidemia.com). Stefania is a former Googler and a graduate from the Erasmus Mundus Programme in Master of Media Engineering for Education (France, Spain, Portugal). She was also the Education Teaching Fellow at Singularity University where she mentored and coached 80 students from 36 countries. At the lecture, Stefania shared her work at Hackidemia, an international project initiated at Singularity University’s Global Grand Challenges programme held at the NASA Ames Research Park in 2013, with the goal of developing creative DIY workshops for kids to ignite their talent in invention and innovation, and to reveal their abilities that would be overlooked or forgotten by the grown-ups.
