Ageing Innovation Ideas Store @ GoldenAge Expo 2017
Jan 2017

A complimentary raw space area (about 36m2) was offered to HKDI DESIS Lab to showcase ageing innovative ideas to visitors at the Golden Age Expo 2017 which was held from 21 to 22 January 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. GAE is organised by the Golden Age Foundation with the aim of creating discussion and exploration around innovative ways of building Hong Kong into a ‘Smart Aging City’.

With the financial and administrative support from the Research Support Unit (RSU), HKDI DESIS Lab curated, designed and built an “Ageing Innovation Ideas Store” with three areas to share innovative ideas for ageing populations, prepared by VTC staff and students:

  1. Ageing Innovation Projects – Open Dementia Project and Ageing Bodies Study by HKDI DESIS Lab

  2. Ageing Innovation Clubs – DesignAge HK Club by HKDI DESIS Lab and THEi Elderly

  3. Ageing Innovation Ideas by HKDI and VTC/KC students

It was the only large-scale Expo and Summit specifically catering for the Golden Age population (i.e. people aged 45 and above, retirees and the elderly). Later their report stated that the two-day event welcomed over 11,000 visitors.
